A Pimple Is Most Painful Just Before It Bursts.
If it seems as if the pace of how bad things can get is accelerating, you're right.
A pimple is most painful just before it bursts.
That’s an oversimplification. But if you don’t understand anything else, understand this: things hurt this much because we are at the moment right before the rupture. What happens next determines everything.
The problem isn’t new. The problem is the Constitution. If the founders had just had the temerity to say, “We don’t actually believe this ‘all men are created equal’ crap; we enslave humans. We mean white male landowners, full stop.” They could’ve had the plutocracy they wanted.
Except, it’s hard to get the poors to die for a cause that doesn’t include them.
So they sold a lie. Wrote elegant, unsustainable IOUs about liberty and the pursuit of happiness into the founding documents, knowing full well future generations would need to pay. And with each passing decade, the glitch in their system became harder to ignore:
All men means all people.
And that’s where the recursive error starts. Because if they’d been honest—if they’d had the courage to admit they never meant ‘and justice for all’—they wouldn’t have built a system that contained the code for cascade failure. Instead, they tried to have it both ways. They gave oppression the language of freedom. And now, the system is running a command it was never meant to execute.
You can’t promise equality and not expect people to demand it.
Every time the system reached this breaking point, it has had a choice: evolve or double down. And every time, it has doubled down. The Civil War was the first rupture. Abolitionists and enslaved Africans forced the collapse of slavery. That should have been the beginning of healing. But the system mutated instead.
Reconstruction gave way to Jim Crow.
Jim Crow gave way to Civil Rights.
Civil rights gave way to MAGA.
The cycle used to take generations. It took nearly a century to go from Reconstruction to Jim Crow. But the Civil Rights Movement? That took only a few decades to meet its backlash. And then you wake up one day and the president is Black.
The system couldn’t even wait for him to leave office before the reactionary wave began.
That’s how you know the system is at a crisis point. The intervals between backlash are collapsing. This is white supremacy’s last chance to keep control. And when a system knows it’s dying, it doesn’t go quietly. It fights harder than ever.
That’s why things feel unbearable right now. And what separates this moment from all the others.
White supremacy has always relied on rebranding itself. It doesn’t disappear; it finds a new face, a new law, a new loophole. But there are no new disguises left. It’s out of time. The only choices left are authoritarian rule or collapse.
This is how they can win, and still be so angry and afraid.
The numbers aren’t on their side (waves at 2040). All attempts to control the narrative are failing, right down to book burning. The economy isn’t on their side. The culture isn’t on their side. The entire foundation they built their power on is cracking beneath them. So they will escalate. They will push every law, every judge, every act of violence they have left. Because they know if they lose this time, they may never come back.
That’s where we are: the pimple about to burst.
This is the inception point, where either this country becomes an actual democracy, or white supremacy stops pretending altogether. Because unlike the founders, the people currently running the show have no qualms about saying who they think should be in charge. There is no middle path. The usual tricks aren’t working. Either they concede power, or they take it by force.
They are desperate and willing to use violence.
They stopped pretending a long time ago. Dog whistles have been replaced with bullhorns. They aren’t slowly eroding rights; they’re overturning decades of law overnight. The last time they lost, they waited nearly a century before trying to take it back.
They can no longer outlast progress, so they must demonize it.
It’s the end of this particular road and there’s no can left to kick. The next decade will determine whether this system finally collapses under the weight of its own contradictions or if we allow it rebrand itself for another cycle. The options are simple: chose to concede, and allow a handful of morally bankrupt, intellectually inept imposters to stage the comical last stand of white supremacy…
Or help this dying system on its way.
Here’s the thing about pimples: you don’t just pop them. You clean the wound. So when this burst happens—and it will happen—don’t let history repeat itself. Don’t be the reason the infection survives.
For once, be ready with something new.
